Imperial Guard/Astra Militarium Sentinel.

Hi guys, so today i thought i would share with you my Imperial guard, or what they now like to call it, Astra Militarism, Sentinel.

I know theres a lot of you thinking, why on earth is it yellow? well that was because it was originally going to be part of an "Aliens" themed Imperial guard army. 

I never really got that far with the army, all i did was some Colonial marines as guardsmen, a company command and this sentinel. sad really!  I'm sure we all have those times we get great ideas, then never continue with them!

Anyway, this was one of the first models i attempted to paint using the forge world model masterclass book and i feel it really helped. 

Even if you only learn one or two techniques from a whole book, its still extra tricks you have in your belt! thats what i enjoy, once you put all those techniques and tricks together, they create something good! but by themselves they are just a bit of colour applied in a certain way!

I hope you like it! has any one else ever attempted to do an "Aliens" themed Imperial guard army?

The Sentinel is a one-man all-terrain bipedal vehicle, used by the Imperial Guard when firepower must be deployed rapidly and particularly in areas of difficult terrain that would immobilise heavier battle tanks. Sentinels march beside the regiments of the Imperial Guard laying waste to the foe without breaking stride.

WIP: Alien 3 Themed Imperial Guard Company Command Squad

 Alien 3 Wayland Yutani Colonial Marine Themed Company Command Squad

Hi guys, following on from my other Aliens colonial marines themed Imperial Guard, i found this old squad, They have not yet been painted (i REALLY need to get these done sometime) but are still in one of my boxes somewhere.

I wanted to do something aliens themed for these guys, yet not your typical colonial marine.

So what i did was base them off these guys.

These guys are the Wayland Yutani Enforcer Colonial Marines types. We dont see them a lot in Alien 3 itself, they always looked to me like they were wearing cricket pads as armour!

I used a few Kroot shoulder pads and odds and ends, and of course the Hasslefree Pulse Rifles.

I was really pleased with the final result.

I remember trying out bronze and Verdigris for the first time on his base. Also it was the first time i tried out freehand, both on his shoulder logo's and the markings on his chainsword.

At the time i was relatively happy with him and he still holds up today.

IMPERIAL GUARD SENTINEL

Ok ok, so its yellow.. Reason being as i once started an Aliens Colonial Marines themed Imperial Guard force but did not get very far! (i have some guardsmen painted also....) This one i painted using lots of tips from Forge Worlds Model Masterclass book. it really is a handy tome!

Who knows, maybe one day i will get round to doing them properly! but i doubt it!

Anyway, here is the beast in all its yellow glory.
